MIRAMAR, Fla. – Six-year-old Edwin "EJ" Bonilla, Jr. and his mom, Suze Guillaume, said they will never forget when they got to meet President Barack Obama.
It happened after two self-published books and Guillaume's persistence.
With Guillaume's help, the St. James Catholic Elementary School student chronicled two journeys. His first journey, "EJ's Awesome Adventure in Atlanta," published in 2015, earned him the Moonbeam Book Award for Best Book by Young Author Nov. 14, 2015.
His second journey to the White House, chronicled in his "EJ's Exciting Road Trip," got him a meeting with Obama. Guillaume said Edwin was in shock when Obama walked into the room and signed his book.
Edwin and his mom are hosting a holiday book drive. They are accepting new and gently used children's books and donations. For more information, visit their website or e-mail Guillaume at info@suzeguillaume.com.
