Maksim Chmerkovskiy's return to 'Dancing'

Fan favorite to return to the ballroom as a judge for the seminfinals

LOS ANGELES – A "Dancing With The Stars" fan favorite is making a comeback.

Professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy is coming back to the ballroom as a guest judge, ABC confirmed.

Chmerkovskiy, older brother of fellow pro dancer Val who was just eliminated this week with actress Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, will help judge the seminfinals alongside judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.

Chmerkovskiy has had a big fan following.  He competed 13 of the first 15 seasons of the hit show but left two seasons ago to pursue other opportunities, including a starring role on Broadway's Forever Tango.

"Maks is part of the family … We love having him be part of the show," said Paul Lee, ABC's president of entertainment.

The celebrities left on the ballroom floor are Corbin Bleu, Bill Engvall, Jack Osbourne, Leah Remini and Amber Riley.
