"You only have to become aware that you are earth," Placido said during the film.

Stivelman's documentary "Humano" was released last year and has been making its way around the world. It has earned awards in Warsaw, Poland, and Mar de Plata, Argentina. And now there is an effort to bring it to Miami-Dade.

Ana Paula Kowalczuk has an ongoing petition to bring the film to Coral Gables Art Cinema, 260 Aragon Ave. She was asking anyone who may be interested in watching it to reserve a ticket. The deadline is Oct. 8.

As of Wednesday, there were still 48 reservations needed to bring the film to Coral Gables. To make a reservation, click on this link to the Gathr Films website.
