Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are calling it quits.
The longtime couple jointly announced Tuesday on Facebook that they have made "the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship."
Their statements, which were nearly the same, noted that their "personal lives are now distinct and separate," and they will be "seeing other people."
Perhaps the most recognizable of all the Muppets, Kermit and Miss Piggy have been paramours since the mid-1970s, when they appeared together on "The Muppet Show."
Both will continue to work together, however. They will star in ABC's "The Muppets," which debuts this fall.
