Miss Colombia lands in South Florida for post-pageant vacation

Ariadna Gutierrez briefly named Miss Universe in Las Vegas Sunday

Miss Colombia arrived in South Florida Tuesday, two days after losing her short-lived title as Miss Universe 2015.

Ariadna Gutierrez, who turns 22 on Christmas Day, landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at about 7 a.m. and is in town visiting family, including her sisters, brother and father.

Albert Destrade was on the same JetBlue flight as Gutierrez and got a chance to snap a photo with the beauty queen.

"So Miss Colombia is on my flight back home from Vegas. She's had a hard week so I'm going to have the flight attendant bring her a crown and coke… But then ask for it back," Destrade joked on Twitter.

Despite his small jab, he said Gutierrez was very friendly and approachable.

Meanwhile, people around the world continue to blast her social media pages. Perez Hilton, a Miami native, celebrity blogger and Miss Universe judge weighed in on the mishap.

"You know, I think Miss. Philippines, who we all voted for, deserves to win, but losing is the best thing that ever happened to Colombia," Hilton said in an interview with "Good Morning America." "So in one sense, she truly is the winner, although, as a judge…I see her posting on Instagram that she's the true winner. There's a reason—many reasons she didn't win. Congratulations to Philippines."

It's unclear how long Gutierrez plans on staying in South Florida for.
