'Girl on the Train,' 'Birth of a Nation' highlight new releases

Family comedy 'Middle School' also opening this week

Here are the trailers for this week's new releases.

"The Girl on the Train"

Based on the debut novel by Paula Hawkins, "The Girl on the Train" stars Emily Blunt as a divorced alcoholic whose life changes forever after witnesses something on her daily commute on a train.

"The Birth of a Nation"

Written and directed by Nate Parker, "The Birth of a Nation" follows the story of Nat Turner (also played by Parker), an enslaved man who leads a slave rebellion in 1831. The film borrows its title from D.W. Griffith's 1915 KKK propaganda film.

"Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life"

This family comedy stars Griffin Gluck as a middle school student who starts an insurrection against his principal.
