Police witness Richard Taylor slamming security guard on ground, report says

SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. – An actor who played music executive Suge Knight in the 2015 hip-hop biopic "Straight Outta Compton" was arrested Sunday in Sunny Isles Beach after he attacked a hotel security guard, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, the victim approached Richard Taylor, 40, inside the lobby at Marenas Beach Resort on Collins Avenue and asked him to remove his foot from a table.

Police said Taylor refused and told the security guard to "leave him alone."

The security guard walked to the front desk and requested employees to call police.

Police said Taylor approached the victim about five minutes later and pushed him, causing the security guard to fall backwards.

Police said the victim maintained his footing and got into a physical fight with Taylor.

An officer who arrived at the scene saw Taylor pick up the victim and slam him to the ground, the arrest report said.

Police separated the men and Taylor was taken into custody after several witnesses stated that Taylor was the primary aggressor and the person who initiated physical contact.

Taylor, who will make his next big-screen performance this year in "Baby Driver," faces one count of battery.
