Brandi Carlile memoir 'Broken Horses' coming in April

NEW YORK ā€“ Grammy winner Brandi Carlile has a memoir coming in April. Her publisher calls the book an ā€œevocative and piercingly honestā€ journey through the life that has shaped her ā€œvery raw art.ā€

Crown announced Thursday that Carlile's book is called ā€œBroken Horses,ā€ and that Carlile herself will read the audio edition. The 39-year-old singer-songwriter-instrumentalist is known for such songs as ā€œThe Storyā€ and ā€œThe Joke" and for her album ā€œBy the Way, I Forgive You.ā€

According to Crown, Carlile will write about her ā€œdysfunctional but loving family,ā€ her years of ā€œsleepless toursā€ and her collaborations with everyone from Elton John to Tanya Tucker.
