‘Heavy Vibes’ debuts at film festival in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Director Alberto Moreira debuted his new film “Heavy Vibes - The Vince Montana Retrospect” on Thursday at The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.

Moreira said his film is a tribute to Vince Montana, Jr., better known as “the Godfather of disco,” a composer, arranger, vibraphonist, and percussionist who died in 2013.

“I just felt like the world needed to know about his music, his talent,” Moreira said.

Montana was best known for being a founding member of the “Mother Father Sister Brother,” also known as MFSB, a pool of more than 30 musicians based at Philadelphia’s Sigma Sound Studios.
