alt-J Sells Out Fillmore Miami Beach!

Fri., Nov. 10

MIAMI BEACH. Fla. – alt-J packed the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater on Friday, November 10th.  The band is currently touring behind their third album, "Relaxer". A raucous crowd greeted every song; singing and dancing wildly.

The trio of Joe Newman on guitar and lead vocals, Gus Unger-Hamilton on keyboards and vocals and Thom Sunny Green on drums creates quite a wall of sound.

alt-J launched right into "3WW", the lead track from the new album, much to the delight of the crowd.  The band had an unusual set-up, with bass monitors down in the photographers' pit and the trio itself set back at least 15 feet from the front of the stage.

There was also a unique light show, with each band member highlighted in his own box of illuminating rods.  Combined with the LED backdrops, the set provided quite an interesting visual specatacle!

The house was packed with anxious fans, who knew the words to every song and got louder and louder as the night went on!  A very minimalist stage set-up was accented by a crowd hungry for the band's unique brand of music.  Another group not to be missed!
