Filming for 'Beach Bum' scheduled to begin next month

You could share the screen with Matthew McConaughey in his upcoming movie, "The Beach Bum."

MIAMI – Do you want to be have a role in the new Matthew McConaughey movie being filmed in Miami? Here is your chance.

An open casting call is being held for people of all ages and ethnicity who want a role in the upcoming movie, "The Beach Bum," co-starring Snoop Dogg.

Filming is scheduled to start next month in Miami.

Producers for the film are looking for a wide range of actors for extras and maybe even a few featured roles. They include:

-- upscale Palm Beach types and hipsters

-- beach bum and tourist types

-- all types of people for city bus extras

-- courtroom extras to portray a court reporter, lawyers and a bailiff

-- customers going in and out of a gas station

-- a scrawny motel clerk and motel guests checking in

-- hospital extras to play doctors, nurses, paramedics and patients

-- children of all ages

Shooting is scheduled for four weeks in Miami and two weeks in Key West.

The pay is $119 per 12 hours or $68 per eight hours, with the possibility for overtime.
