MARATHON, Fla. – Los veterinarios del Turtle Hospital en Marathon están trabajando para salvar a una tortuga, dicen que fue golpeada por un bote en los Cayos de Florida.

La tortuga ‘loggerhead’ masculina, que se cree tiene al menos 70 años, fue traída el miércoles por miembros de la Guardia Costera. Los veterinarios de la instalación dicen que es una de las tortugas más grandes que han visto jamás.

The Turtle Hospital, ubicado en los terrenos del antiguo Hidden Harbor Motel en Marathon, Florida, fue inaugurado en 1986.

La instalación ayuda a cuidar a las tortugas marinas enfermas y heridas, para luego liberarlas de nuevo en las aguas de los Cayos de Florida.
