MIAMI – With school out and the sun shining, summer is the most popular time of the year for family travel and visiting locations often packed with massive crowds.

It's also the most worrisome time for parents who fear being separated from their children among the hustle and bustle of a locale teeming with strangers.

Thankfully, a California police department came up with a smart and easy tip for parents to help increase the odds of reuniting with their children should they become lost.

In a post on its Facebook site, the Clovis Police Department suggests writing your phone number on your child's wrist and covering it with liquid band-aid in case they become separated.

The department also says you should take a picture of your kids with your smartphone in case they are lost "so you have their clothing, hair style and up to date photo."

The #TipOfTheDay is a repost of one the department shared last year before a festival in the area.
