Children medicines recalled due to potentially poisonous substance

Certain brands of a children's medicine sold at CVS have been recalled because of the potential that they contain a poisonous substance.

Belladona has been confirmed as the substance. It is considered to be harmful when used in large doses.

The precautionary recall covers products bearing the CVS name but produced by Raritan Pharmaceuticals that offer relief for pain from teething and ear infections.

CVS Kids Relief Homeopathic Ear Relief Oral Liquid, CVS Homepathic Kids'  Ear Relief Liquid and CVS Homeopathic Infants' Teething Tablets are sold nationwide and are under recall.

CNN reports symptoms of belladona poisoning include seizures, difficulty breathing, lethargy and sleepiness.
