Abortion opponents rally in front of Planned Parenthood clinic in Pembroke Pines

Pro-life rally gathers along North University Drive

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Abortion opponents held a rally at the Planned Parenthood in Pembroke Pines on Saturday.

Dozens held up signs along North University Drive, as part of a nationwide event known in social media as the "ProtestPP"Ā coalition. Rallies in support of Planned Parenthood were using the "StandwithPP" hash tag.Ā

The protesters said they want the federal government to stop providing funding to Planned Parenthood, and instead fund health care centers that do not perform abortions. Ā

John Aman, President of Broward County Right to Life, helped to organize the local protest. The local chapters of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal, 40 Days for Life and the Pro-Life Action League were also involved.
