TAMPA – A Florida woman was rushed to the hospital with a severe infection allegedly caused by a pedicure she received the previous day.
Tara Batista of Tampa underwent surgery and spent a week in the hospital due to the infection.
WFTS reports Batista told doctors she asked the woman giving her the pedicure at Nail Image to ease up after feeling the instruments digging into her skin.
The next day, Batista felt pains shooting up her leg and part of her foot had turned black.
After being taken to the emergency room, Batista was diagnosed with a severe infection centered on her left big toe. Following surgery, Batista was forced to spend the week in the hospital.
Despite Batista's claims, there is no proof the infection was caused by the infection, and employees at Nail Image refused comment.
