MIAMI – It is the largest swim fashion week in the world – and it’s happening right in Miami this week.
Miami Swim Week is here and independent designers and event planners from all around the world are taking advantage of the sun-kissed platform .
"The public can really get excited about seeing so many swimwear designers and swimsuits. And really they’ve taken swimsuits to another level," Celia Evans, an event planner for Planet Fashion Swim Weekend said.
Events will take place from Thursday to Sunday, and one of them is Planet Fashion Swim Weekend.
"We've brought together emerging designers and then top brands like Roberto Cavalli," Evans said.
Miami designer Jennifer Weisman is set to show off her deisngers at the show.
"To have a platform like this to share my designs and on such a platform is very exciting," Weisman said.
The fashion week is the largest international trade show for swimwear.
There are swimsuits for every style and budget.
Ankara Miami, another local company, will host a show over the weekend that showcases African designers.
"Its the perfect place to showcase that type of fashion," Evelyn Onyejuruwa, of Ankara, said. "We have designers representing from Nigeria, to Zimbabwe to Panama."
