1 killed, 2 hurt in South Miami shooting

Family of victim confirms his identity

SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a fatal triple shooting in South Miami Wednesday morning.

The shooting was reported in the area of Southwest 59th Place and 68th Street around 1:30 a.m.

According to police, someone approached the group on foot and fired shots at them, hitting three people. Two men were rushed to the emergency room.

Family on the scene said the man killed is Larry Edward, 32. They said he just got off of work and was spending time with friends when he was killed.

"I'm in pain, big pain. (I) can't catch my breath at times," the victim's grandfather, Charles Harrell Sr., said.

Family members said Edward was a father of two.

"The girls don't know. When we go back home, we have to break the news to them," Edward's aunt, Vondolyn Harold-Vega, said.

No arrests have been made.

"If someone knows something, I hope they do come forward," Harold-Vega said. "Especially if they value the friendship and family relationship with Larry, they will get this guy off the streets."
