Chase ends in crash in Coral Springs

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Two suspects were arrested Thursday night after a police chase that ended in a crash flat 2400 Forest Hills Boulevard.

Witnesses said the suspect was driving a white car that struck an SUV, flipping it on its roof. The suspect's car then crashed into nearby bushes.

Fire Rescue transported two people that were in the vehicle the suspects hit.

According to Coral Springs police, Elton Alfredo Jones, 31, and Nicholas Jevarris Wright, 30, were arrested after an officer attempted to stop their vehicle for a traffic violation.

The vehicle fled but safety concerns led the officers to stop the pursuit, according to a news release issued Friday morning.

The suspects' vehicle then crashed into another car, at which point both suspects exited their car and fled on foot, police said.

Officers locked down the area and with the help of K-9 units, both suspects were arrested.

Charges include felony fleeing and eluding an officer, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, careless driving, driving on an expired license, resisting without violence, possession of marijuana and Wright had an outstanding burglary warrant.

A woman who was in the vehicle that was struck by the suspects' vehicle was treated at Broward Health Coral Springs for minor injuries.
