According to the woman, Paul Anthony Cataldo, 38, became upset because his dinner wasn't ready. She said Cataldo punched her in the arm and then threw a three-inch binder at her.

The woman's son said Cataldo tried to hit him, but he ran upstairs and locked himself in his bedroom.

Cataldo then reportedly grabbed both of the woman's laptop computers, ran outside, and threw them in a canal.

The woman locked Cataldo out of the house. Cataldo then allegedly grabbed a crowbar and tried to break back into the home.

That's when police arrived.

Officers did not arrest Cataldo at first. They placed him in custody until they could determine whether or not he was a danger to himself or others.

He was eventually charged with battery and child abuse.
