TAMARAC, Fla. – Those looking to display sports memorabilia and support a local business need look no further.
Caseworks in Tamarac has cases even the pros are using.
Employees at Caseworks International are busy on a big order for the Tennessee Titans, making jersey display cases for the NFL team.
"We represent 65 professional teams. We make over 300 different products," said Norman Alman, Caseworks founder.
The company's 21 employees create cases for balls, bats, jerseys or just about anything someone would like to spotlight. Caseworks was the first company to etch team logos into the acrylic cases.
"We are the largest independent case manufacturer in the world. Nobody has ever survived as long as we have just manufacturing display cases," Alman said.
Thirteen years ago, Alman was looking to show off some of his sports memorabilia collection but couldn't find any product that was quite right. So he began thinking.
"If I could find a way to make a display case NFL-specific or MLB- or NHL-specific, then maybe I could start something that would mean something," he said.
In 13 years, Caseworks has shipped more than $40 million worth of cases all over the world. Each order bears the red, white and blue company logo.
"We try to have a label on everything that says, 'Made in America,' because that's what we are and that's what we stand for," Alman said.
Next year looks good for Caseworks. The company is working on a deal to with the NCAA to etch university logos on display cases.
