Video captures 2 men setting fire to Achla Pita Grill

Police not calling it hate crime

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police are searching for two men who allegedly set fire to the Achla Pita Grill on Friday night.

The incident was captured on surveillance video,

Restaurant owner Ilan Timianski says it began when those two men first tried to break into a neighboring restaurant and failed.

They then broke into Achla Pita Grill..  But they didn't even go near the cash register.  Instead, they can be seen pouring some sort of liquid and then lighting the kitchen on fire.

One of the men caught fire before the other man extinguished the flames.

A nearby pizza place was also burned out and suffered severe damage.

"There's no signs of hate crime -- no message," Timianski says.

Ten months ago, there was also no message when two arsonists burned up the the Holyland Judaica store in the same strip mall.  That incident was also caught on camera.

Police are not calling these hate crimes or saying that they are related.
