MIAMI – Jordan Beswick is charged with second-degree murder after police say he shot and killed an intruder at his home.
Defense attorneys say the case falls under the "Stand Your Ground Law," the same law currently being debated in Tallahassee.

But prosecutors say Beswick, 19, went too far and called a friend before he called police.
The fatal shooting happened Monday night in Northeast Miami-Dade.
Prosecutors say Beswick first heard a knock at the door of his apartment, but didn't answer it on purpose.
They say he then heard the person trying to open the sliding glass door in the back of his apartment and when the man entered, he pointed a semi-automatic weapon at him and fired seven shots.
Prosecutors say Beswick ran out the front door and waited a few minutes before shooting the intruder again.
The 22-year-old intruder was reportedly trying to escape at the time, but died.
Police say he was not armed.
A judge found probable cause to charge Beswick with murder.
He is being held on no bond.
