Groups plan 5K for Boston Marathon victims

Play Hard Play Social hosting Compatriots' Day 5K to raise money for One Fund Boston

MIAMI – Several social sports club, including one in Miami, have organized a 5K run to raise money for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Play Hard Play Social is hosting the Compatriots' Day 5K on Saturday, April 20.

"Let's run for all those who couldn't finish the race and help those who need help staying positive. Let's show everyone that we all care! This could have affected so many people that you know," read an email from the organization.

Runners can sign up at the organization's website. They are asked to check in at the Florida Running Company, located at 3407 Main Highway in Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood, at 9:45 a.m.

The first wave of runners is expected to begin at 10:30 a.m. The second wave, if needed, is scheduled for noon. The course will include running trails at Kennedy Park.

Sandbar & Grill will host a gathering after the run, where runners will receive a wristband that gets them drinks half off.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the One Fund Boston.

Play Hard Play Social is teaming up with NYC Social, DC Social, Jersey Club Sports, Stay & Play Sports & Social, Delaware Sports Leagues,SportsLink, Underdog Seattle, and Atlanta Sports & Social Club for the run.
