Die-hard heat fan attends first game

Local 10 surprises man with tickets

MIAMI – Michael Murdock is a die-hard Miami Heat fan, but had never been to a Heat game until Monday night.

"I'm very excited. Let's go Heat!" he said.

Murdock's hand-painted Ford Crown Victoria, which featured portraits of Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh on its sides, was his pride and joy.

When someone stole it last week, he was heartbroken.

When detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office recovered the car on Friday, he was elated.

When Local 10 surprised him on live television with tickets to Monday's playoff game against the Chicago Bulls, he was close to speechless.

Murdock and his brother, Terry, arrived at the American Airlines Arena on Monday decked out in white Heat duds and were thrilled to know their heartache turned into a happy ending. The brothers said they were grateful to the Heat and to Local 10.

"Just being here, I'm happy. I'm with my brother, my nephew. I'm happy," he said.

"I'm still baffled. I can't believe how close we are!" Terry Murdock laughed.
