Man pulled over for driving erratically ran off into nearby alley, says police

MIAMI – Police are looking for a Miami man who allegedly ran from officers while leaving his 9-year-old son in the car.

Antonio Montano, 29, was pulled over for driving erratically near Northwest 37th Avenue and 48th Street, according to Hialeah police spokesman Carl Zogby.

When the officer who pulled him over approached the car, Montano allegedly got out of the vehicle and ran into an alley, leaving his son in the back seat.

Officers in a Miami-Dade police helicopter assisted in the search for Montano in the nearby warehouse district. K9 officers went door-to-door on the ground.

Police said Montano was driving on a suspended license and has an extensive record of traffic infractions.

Montano faces charges of driving on a suspended license, eluding police, and child endangerment.
