Deputies: Copper thieves caught on camera

Copper thefts have been on rise over last several months

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The series of copper thefts continues, this time in Southwest Florida.

Lee County Sheriff's deputies said the men in the surveillance picture above stole copper tubing had been stolen from the air conditioning units of three businesses in Fort Myers on March 26.

Detectives hope by releasing the picture, the public will be able to help identify the thieves.

Anyone with information on the identity of these thieves is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

Police say copper thefts have been on rise over last several months all across Florida.
