PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Local 10 kicks off the 2013 Hurricane Season on Friday with a primetime broadcast of the "Hurricane House Call" special at 8:00 PM.
Hosted by the Betty Davis, Max Mayfield and the entire Local 10 Weather team, the Emmy-award "Hurricane House Call" special will prepare South Florida residents for the upcoming season.
From getting homes and apartments ready for threatening storms to how local attractions protect their prized possessions, the "Hurricane House Call" special will keep residents up to date on what they need to know to survive a storm.
Other than those helpful hints and tips to protect your family, Julie Durda goes behind-the-scenes at Royal Caribbean to find out how the giant cruise line plays a game of musical chairs each time a storm poses danger to its fleet
Trent Aric and Max pay a visit to the PortMiami Tunnel construction site to see how the billion-dollar project will be able to withstand the pummeling that devastated the tunnels and subways of the northeast during Hurricane Sandy.
Plus, Scott Padgett travels to the wild kingdom of Jungle Island to get a sneak peek on the hurricane plan the attraction implements to protect all its wonderful wildlife.
