Tropical disturbance brings heavy rain to S. Fla.
NHC gives system 40 percent chance of development
MIAMI – As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico has a 40 percent chance of development, according to the National Hurricane Center.
This tropical disturbance is very unorganized and is currently encountering high wind shear so any development would be slow to occur.
The system is forecast to continue to move NNE over the next few days and the environment could become a little more conducive for development.
The message for South Florida remains the same -- this low will bring heavy rainfall over South Florida in the next few days. Some models are indicating an additional 5 to 7 inches of rain in some localized areas.
