Thieves steal $250K worth of merchandise from Seminole Tribe

Reward offered to help catch men who stole high end electronics, premium liquor

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A $25,000 reward is being offered to help catch thieves who stole thousands of dollars worth of premium liquor and expensive electronics belonging to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The goods were stolen from a warehouse near the intersection of I-95 and I-595. The buildings are pretty nondescript. There's nothing to indicate the Seminole tribe stored its high-priced liquor and electronics there.

So either the bad guys just got lucky when they broke in that door, or this was an inside job, Local 10's Roger Lohse reported.

The incident happened on Saturday morning during Memorial Day Weekend. There were four burglars, and surveillance cameras got a good look at three of their faces.

Hollywood police say they didn't waste anytime once they got in, disabled the alarm and when to work.

"It appears that it was well planned," said Sgt. Pablo Vanegas of the Hollywood Police Dept.

Two of the crooks cut the locks on the bay door, while a third hopped on a forklift and started loading up.

Video cameras, flat screen TV's, video gaming systems, and hundreds of cases of top shelf alcohol were packed into a trailer parked just outside.

The thieves had their run of the place for hours, with no one around to ask any questions.

It appears they even brought their own truck to haul the stuff away. Two days later, the empty trailer was found abandoned on I-75 near Griffin Road.

Police say they stole and estimated $250,000 worth of merchandise.

The FBI is helping Hollywood police track down thieves.

Crime Stoppers is offering $25,000 reward.
