Sellout expected for Brazil, Honduras friendly

Sun Life Stadium hosting World Cup tuneup

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A sellout crowd is expected for the friendly between Brazil and Honduras at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday night.

"They are talking about a possible attendance record for this match," said Sebastian Christensen with ESPN Deportes. "The previous record was when Chivas and Barcelona played over here."

When the Mexican and Spanish powerhouses played in 2011, 70,080 fans packed Sun Life Stadium.

Devoted soccer fans followed the World Cup 2014 hosts throughout South Florida this week.

"It is kind of unbelievable seeing them right here next to you when you are used to seeing them on TV," said Renato Corgho.

Corgho has played soccer since he could walk. He and his friends from the Kendall Soccer Club served as ball boys while Brazil practiced.

"The best players in the world I get to watch how they train and see the things they do and I can use it to improve my game," he said.

Brazilian star Neymar also met former England captain David Beckham, who toured Marlins Park on Wednesday, one of the possible venues for hosting his Major League Soccer franchise while a soccer-specific stadium is built.

"It is really important to have a club here [in Miami]," said Brazilian national team spokesman Rodrigo Paiva. "You deserve to have a good team and David we are sure will do that."
