Police search for gunman who robbed Subway in Coral Springs

Gunman tells employees to wait 5 minutes before calling police

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – With cash in hand, a gunman told Subway restaurant employees in Coral Springs, as he walked out, to wait five minutes before calling the cops, police said Wednesday.

Police did not catch him on Jan. 24 when he robbed the Subway at 6290 W. Sample Road, but surveillance cameras did.

The tall and slim man, who appeared to be in his 20s, was wearing a green hoodie and gray slacks.

According to Coral Springs Police Sgt. Carla Kmioteck, the man walked into the store about 9 a.m. and told a 17-year-old Subway employee, "You're going to listen to me. I need all the money in the register."

The man took off with an undisclosed amount, police said.

Coral Springs Police Detective David Young is asking anyone with information to call 954-346-1219 or Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
