Flight 262 struck by lightning traveling to Atlantic City International Airport

ATLANTIC CITY – A plane that traveled from Fort Lauderdale on its way to pick up passengers in Atlantic City landed safely after it was struck by lightning, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

No passengers were hurt, but the newspaper reports the plane's scheduled flight from the Atlantic City International Airport to Orlando was delayed.

Spirit Airlines spokesperson Maggie Espin told the Press that the flight would be delayed for at least two hours so the airline could inspect the plane.

According to the newspaper, passengers will either be accommodated on another flight or given a refund.
