Davie firefighters rescue tiny dog named Sugarman

Dog rescue took about two hours

DAVIE, Fla. – Firefighters saved a 2-month-old Pomeranian named Sugarman in Davie Monday.

He was playing in front of a home, 5430 King Arthur Ave., when he fell down a hole about three feet. He survived the fall, but got trapped in a sewage pipe.

Firefighters could hear him barking. They pumped air into the pipe. And utility workers used a backhoe to excavate.

Police used yellow crime scene tape to block the area. Media helicopters captured the aerial shots of the rescue effort, while South Florida reporters on the ground stood nearby to capture the celebratory rescue.
