Firefighters battle large brush fire in western Broward County

Fire burns about 350 acres

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – State firefighters battled a large brush fire Monday in western Broward County.

The Florida Division of Forestry said the fire started Sunday and burned about 350 acres.

Large plumes of black smoke could be seen from the sky about three miles west of U.S. Highway 27 and eight miles south of Alligator Alley.

Firefighters could be seen fighting the flames on the ground and in the air.

They were also battling another half-acre brush fire near the Sawgrass Expressway.
