Car crashes into Domino's Pizza in Pembroke Pines

Witnesses say woman lost control of car while talking on cellphone

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A woman was talking on her cellphone when she lost control of her car and crashed into a Domino's Pizza on Pines Boulevard, witnesses told Local 10.

Employees at a nearby Subway sandwich shop said they heard the crash shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Witnesses said the driver of the luxury Lexus was a regular customer of the dry-cleaner business next to Domino's.

"Luckily, no one was hurt," Subway employee Taylor Lobo said. "We saw the driver. She was actually crying because of her shock."

Lobo said she felt fortunate the car did not crash into the Subway "because there is not much of a barrier."

Domino's employee Sunil Verma said he was shocked to see a car in the store.

"I came in to open it and ... it was already open," Verma said jokingly.

The store manager took pictures of the damage and a video of his new drive-through for insurance purposes. Even though he lost the front of his store, he was still selling pizzas.
