Bomb squad called after suspicious bag found in shopping cart

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Police evacuated a Wilton Manors parking lot where a suspicious bag was found Monday afternoon.

Someone called Wilton Manors police to report a strange bag in a shopping cart at the corner of Northeast Fifth Avenue and 21st Court.

Police evacuated the liquor store parking lot and called the Fort Lauderdale police bomb squad.

A remote-control robot discharged a detonation round into the bag.

Police determined it was "a harmless bag of plastic containers."
