DORAL, Fla. ā The family of a 17-year-old girl who was killed in a shooting at a northwest Miami-Dade County park is asking the public for information that will lead to an arrest.
Keimouria Gardner was fatally shot while sitting on a park bench last week.
"She will never get married. She will never have kids," Skymeter Roberts said Tuesday. "And that's something as a mother that I'll never enjoy with her."
Roberts was joined by Gardner's stepmother, Regina Gardner, as she begged for help from the public.
The teen took her little cousins to the park when she heard what she thought were firecrackers, Regina Gardner explained.
But they were not firecrackers. They were gunshots.
"And there was a hole in her head," Regina Gardner said.
Keimouria Gardner, along with one of two men who were also shot, died at the hospital.
"She became an organ donor and Keimouria Gardner saved six lives at the loss of her own," Regina Gardner said.
Police have not made any arrests, but the teen's family hopes someone will come forward.
"I beg you, we plead with you, if you know anything about this senseless crime, please come forward," Regina Gardner said.
