HIALEAH, Fla. – A 16-year-old has been arrested in the burglary of a Hialeah nail salon and police believe he may be connected to up to five other area burglaries.
Early Tuesday morning, the storefront window of "Le Nail Salon" at 4532 W. 12th Ave. was smashed with a rock.
Hialeah police say a cash register was stolen. Fingerprints recovered from the cash registers linked the teen to the crime.
Police say the teenager was spotted at the scene of the burglary, but he ran from officers.
He was arrested Wednesday evening on charges of loitering and prowling, resisting arrest and burglary.
Similar break-ins occurred that morning at five other businesses in the area. Detectives believe the incidents may be gang-related and continue to investigate the suspect's possible connection to them.
Hialeah police are still searching for at least one other unidentified male.
