Boat catches fire in Fort Lauderdale

Firefighters prevent flames from spreading to home

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A fire destroyed a fishing boat in Fort Lauderdale on Monday night.

The fire started shortly before 10 p.m. at 2555 SW 30th Ave.

Fort Lauderdale firefighters extinguished the flames on board the 30-foot boat docked behind the home.

Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the home.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
