Man robs Miami home, attacks woman inside

2 adults, 1 baby inside home during robbery

MIAMI – Police have released surveillance video of a man casing the area behind a victim's home about an hour before he broke in Sunday night.

Police say two people and a baby were at the home at 2223 SW 22 Terrace when the man used a hammer to break the front door in.

One of the victims grabbed her baby and fled to the child's room. The second victim was in the shower and ran out when they heard screaming.

Police say the man demanded money from the victims but they told him they didn't have any. That's when he grabbed one of the victims by her hair, hit her in the face, threw her to the ground and kicked her.

The other victim ran into another room and escaped through a window.

Police say the man stole a laptop, iPad case and a breast pump from the home. He is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s, about 6 foot 2 inches tall, and approximately 220 pounds. He has short hair, facial hair, a pointy nose and a brightly colored tattoo on his shoulder or arm.
