U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz injures hamstring during softball game

South Fla. congresswoman on crutches, undergoing physical therapy

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., injured her hamstring during a congressional women's softball game.

The lawmaker was rounding the bases during the annual charity softball game when she tore her hamstring Wednesday night in Washington.

A representative for the Democratic congresswoman says she is on crutches and will be undergoing physical therapy for at least a couple of weeks.

Despite her injury, the female members of Congress went on to beat the female reporters in the charity game, winning 10-5. The event raised money for breast cancer research.

The congresswoman is in good spirits and has already resumed her schedule and duties.
