Workers rupture gas line in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – The city of Hollywood is asking drivers to avoid the area of Johnson Street and Dixie Highway after contractors for the city damaged a utility gas line.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon, as workers were trying to install new sewer lines.

The gas line is expected to be repaired later in the afternoon.

Evacuations have not been ordered at this time.
