3 burglary ring members arrested in Deerfield Beach

Javier Espinsoa, Michael Torres, Maykel Torres arrested on burglary, theft charges

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Three people from Miami believed to be committing burglaries throughout Broward and Martin counties were arrested in a joint operation led by the Coral Springs Police Department and Broward Sheriff's Office detectives.

Working off of criminal intelligence received by Coral Springs detectives, officers set up surveillance on the three and followed them into the city of Deerfield Beach, police said.

Officers were able to witness the three commit at least one home burglary. Once the burglary was confirmed, all three were taken into custody at the 900 block of North Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach.

The three were identified by police as 42-year-old Javier Espinosa, 34-year-old Michael Torres and 32-year-old Maykel Torres.

In addition to the arrests, detectives were able to recover $7,500 in stolen property and return it to the victim, police said.

The three were taken to Broward County jail and held on burglary and theft charges. Police said Espinosa will be extradited to Martin County in reference to an outstanding burglary warrant.
