Elderly woman killed in crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One person was killed and several others were injured Sunday in a two-car crash near the intersection of State Road 997 and State Road 25.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Vladyslav Logvinov, 40, was driving his 2002 Toyota Camry west on SR 997 and failed to stop at a red light at SR 25, causing him to collide with a 2008 Chevy Equinox, driven by Philip A. Slack, 66.

Troopers said Logvinov's vehicle was hit on the passenger side and then the two vehicles collided a second time, causing Slack's car to be hit on the passenger side as well.

Hilda Tuscano, 81, a passenger in Logvinov's car, sustained fatal injuries during the crash. Logvinov and Monica Lopez, 43, were taken to Kendall Regional with minor injuries.

Joyce Slack, 61, and Philip Slack were taken to JMH Ryder. Joyce Slack reportedly sustained serious injures, while Philip Slack's were minor.

A 4-year-old and a 7-year-old who were in Philip Slack's car sustained no injuries.
