Miami Beach firefighter injured during apartment building fire

Flames damage Miami Beach apartment building

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A Miami Beach firefighter was injured during an apartment building fire Tuesday morning in South Beach.

About 9:20 a.m., firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a corner building on 10th Street and Euclid Avenue.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire at 1051 Euclid Ave., near Flamingo Park. 

Rescue took a firefighter who suffered smoke inhalation to Mount Sinai Medical Center, 4300 Alton Road, Miami Beach.

Witnesses said the smoke was visible from Alton Road and Collins Avenue.

Authorities said the apartment has 16 units but did not say how many people were inside at the time of the fire.

The American Red Cross is helping the victims who were displaced from their apartment units.
