8 displaced after Fort Lauderdale fire

Resident living in adjacent apartment treated for smoke inhalation

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Eight people were displaced after a fire at a Fort Lauderdale home Sunday night.

The fire started at 936 SW 16th St. shortly after 7 p.m.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

One resident living in an adjacent apartment was treated for smoke inhalation but refused further care.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
