An employee at Blue Marlin Jewelry told deputies she was showing a couple the Rolex when the man snatched it from her and fled with the woman in a black car.

A deputy later stopped a car matching the description near mile marker 96. All four people in the car were taken to a sheriff's office substation to be interviewed.

The driver of the car told detectives the group took a day trip to Key West and were returning to the Miami area when Cordero told her to stop at the jewelry store. She said Cordero and another woman entered the store and ran out a short time later, with Cordero yelling at her to "drive."

Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said the watch, valued at $13,000, has not been found.
