West Broward High School evacuated during police sweep

Students allowed back inside about 8:45 a.m.

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – West Broward High School was briefly evacuated Tuesday morning because of a police investigation.

Broward County school officials told Local 10 News that the school was evacuated while Pembroke Pines police conducted a sweep of the school.

Police told Local 10 they were using a bomb-sniffing dog to search the school.

School officials said students were allowed back inside about 8:45 a.m.

There was no further explanation as to why the school was evacuated.
