Arrest made in 2013 hit-and-run crash

FHP: Radomin Delgado driving Ferrari on I-75 when he crashed into 2 vehicles

SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol has made an arrest in the 2013 hit-and- run crash that killed one man and seriously injured another.

Radomin Delgado, 43, is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

Troopers said was driving a Ferrari that rear-ended another car on Aug. 10, 2013 on Interstate 75, near the Miami-Dade and Broward County line.

Jorge Arrojas, 60, was killed in the crash  while driving back to his Southwest Ranches home from a dinner party. His partner of 40 years, Miguel Larrieu, was also in the car and said Arrojas died in his arms after their car flipped and rolled.

"Jorge had his head on top of my chest, and I kept asking him to breathe but it was over because I couldn't see him breathe," said Larrieu.

Arrojas died on impact, but police said Delgado drove off and then later abandoned the red Ferrari.

"He tried to get away with something, and I am sincerely glad that justice has prevailed," said Larrieu.

Larrieu suffered serious injuries in the crash and has spent the past year healing on the farm he shared with Arrojas. He said the mental anguish is difficult because, even after the accident, it took Delgado five days to turn himself in and then Larrieu claims Delgado hid behind his lawyers.

"It really pissed me off that this man was walking around as if nothing had happened for 13 months," said Larrieu.
